There’s a field out back, and at the moment is is corn stubble peppered with crows, and small flocks of birds- redwing, fieldfare and goldfinch, but the thing I like best about the field is that you can see the horizon, and the big skies. The sky is full of moody clouds that gather like bruise, heralding winter storms. This is a multicolour reduction print, made by printing and and then recarving the same block till there’s very little left. There are 10 of these and it will not (and cannot) be reproduced. There is an area of texture at the bottom of the print which reflects the method I used for the final block.

I have used cranfield oil based relief inks in gradually darkening tones to create the moody winter sky in this two block print.

Size: The paper is Fabriano Rosapina 285gsm printmaking paper in ivory for a vintage feel. size is hand cut to approximately 43.5x30 mm or 17 x 11 inches (can be cut to A3) If you order the print framed, the bottom of the print will be trimmed to fit the frame. The printed area is approximately 21cm x31 cm( 8x12 inches) Some prints may have a watermark on the reverse.


The frames if you choose one are 302 x 382mm, made with a with 2cm x 2cm white subtle wood textured moulding made by framishly in the U.K. The frames are fronted with clear styrene, and have an MDF back board kept in with flexipins. They each come ready to hang.

My prints are hand registered by eye and unlike computer generated images are subject to slight variations that make each a unique piece of art.
